PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It is prepared by collecting a small amount of the patient’s blood and processing it in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelet-containing plasma.

PRP generally remains a liquid platelet concentrate. PRF (platelet rich fibrin) contains a fibrin structure and may have a thicker consistency, depending on how it is prepared.

No. Suitability depends on the treatment being considered, the patient’s medical history, medications, blood health, skin or hair concern and other individual factors.

There is no single treatment schedule suitable for everyone. Some people may undergo one treatment, while others may be advised to consider a series of treatments.

The recommended number and spacing of treatments will be discussed following assessment.

The timing and extent of any change vary between patients and treatments. Some effects may develop gradually over a period of weeks or months.

Results cannot be guaranteed.

Temporary redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness or sensitivity may occur. Treatments involving RF microneedling or chemical peeling may also involve visible redness, dryness or peeling.

The practitioner will provide treatment-specific recovery and aftercare information.

All procedures carry risk. Risks vary according to the treatment and may include pain, redness, bruising, bleeding, swelling, infection, irritation, pigmentation changes, scarring or an unsatisfactory outcome.

A more complete discussion of relevant risks will take place before consent is obtained.

PRP / PRF and RF (radiofrequency) microneedling may be combined for suitable patients. Whether the combination is appropriate depends on the treatment area, concerns, medical history and individual skin characteristics.

Preparation instructions will be provided when your appointment is confirmed. Tell the practitioner about any medical conditions, allergies, medications, supplements, previous cosmetic treatments or history of reactions before proceeding.
